Park Info

Just 13km from South Australia’s mainland lies Australia’s third largest island, Kangaroo Island. A short ferry ride from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw aboard the Sealink Ferry will have you exploring the sites of Kangaroo Island in no time.

There are plenty of things to see and do as you make your way to the western side of the island from Penneshaw. Check out the stunning views of Vivonne Bay, just under half an hour from Discovery Parks – Kangaroo Island or stop in for a visit to the furry locals at Seal Bay. You can take as long or as little time as you like to get here as adventure awaits you on the island.

Discovery Parks – Kangaroo Island has Flinders Range National Park at its doorstep, making it the perfect spot to stay while you explore the surrounding wilderness of the National Park.

Relax at the end of a day of adventure in the shady bushland setting of the park. With spacious, shady campsites or luxury and park cabins, modern amenities and facilities, and plenty of native wildlife to spot tucked away in the trees on dusk – it really is the perfect spot to unwind. Plus, no need to go far with 24/7 fuel and coffee available on site.

FLINDERS CHASE NATIONAL PARK

Situated a short 10-minute drive from Flinders Chase National Park, Discovery Parks – Kangaroo Island is your gateway to exploring the NP.

Travelling through Flinders Chase NP will have you in awe as you make your way through the winding roads, over hills surrounded by bushland, and through scrub full of native wildlife. Be greeted with expansive views of the coastline and Cape du Couedic Lighthouse before Remarkable Rocks peer over the horizon, perched precariously on top of a rock face.

Admirals Arch is another remarkable natural structure that through thousands of years of erosion, has created an archway formation. The Admirals Arch boardwalk will also take you past Cape du Couedic Light station, in operation on the southwest side of the island since 1909.

ACCOMMODATION

There’s a range of accommodation options to suit all travellers at Discovery Parks – Kangaroo Island. Immerse yourself in nature with large, shady gumtrees providing ample shade and privacy on powered sites, and grassy, bushland styled unpowered sites also available.
